David Allen: Our memories seem to us as though they are video recordings of the world. They're flawed, they're fallible in many cases and self-defeating in others. He says every time we recall a memory, we're opening in edit mode. It's like what we saw in Orwell's book, 1984, which is now called Orwellian revisionism. And even if it was stored accurately, a funny thing happens when you're metaphorically pulling that memory out of your brain.
