I think it's extremely unfortunate that we have a politically polarized society and that guns have gotten drawn into that polarization. I'd like to see some problem-solved policies that seek to undermine gun violence without directly over-regulating firearms. Like, okay, let's fix the problem of adolescent mental health care in the United States. It seems like that's intractable. Whereas if we just said, well, ban bump stocks, we can at least feel that we're doing something about it, right?
