What Kind of Opportunities Are There for Young Architectural Practices?

Lagos is an emerging market, there was no structures here in the sense that if you are progressive and tenacious and a go-getter, it's like Virgin Land. As architects in this market, very similar to Britain, we're not allowed to formally advertise. A lot of work comes by word of mouth. If people know that in the industry that you're doing good work and people see physically finished buildings, it's more likely that you will get a referral. From my experience, it's usually a two to three-year cycle but once it's standing, that work will get you more work.
