The Probability of a Trial Before the Election
There has been some haggling about when the trial would take place. I think the likelihood of there being a trial before the election, with respect to the other pending investigations that have not yet turned into indictments, is low. Part of this is gonna depend on what Donald Trump and his team wants. If he needs more time, or he makes arguments related to the election, those might not fall on deaf ears. There's a famous example of this in a case that otherwise went south and was a big black eye for the government some years ago.
