The Role of Advertising in the Health Supplement Industry
Advertising needs to be looked after by a separate set of laws because labeling is one thing and advertising is another. Currently we have the Food Safety and Standards Act 2006 which doesn't specify what misleading means. The Consumer Protection Act, CPA of 2019 defines it as something that falsely describes such product or service or gives a false guarantee. I would think that even a product like this would not escape the laws because the spirit of the law is very clear but who is to take them to task?
