Syrian Arab Red Crescent Calls for the Lifting of Economic Sanctions on Syria After a Massive Quake

The head of the Syrian Arab Red Crescent, Sark for short on Tuesday called for the lifting of U.S. and other Western economic sanctions on Syria following a massive earthquake. He said that the sanctions are preventing Syria from acquiring machinery that they need to rescue people from the rubble. So he appealed specifically to the European Union to lift sanctions and he asked the USAID for humanitarian assistance. The death toll is kind of split in, you know, over 700 people dead and well, actually it's more now.
