This is an edit which I've added one day after originally publishing this episode. My brother has chipped in here with a comment, sending me more texts yesterday evening. We had a little chat, and he thinks that the most common collocation with the word blinder is actually to play a blinder rather than to pull a blinder. Thinking about it, I've definitely heard play a blinders more than I've heard pull a bliden, and a quick internet search shows us the same thing. Basically, Collins dictionary says it's when a sports player or musician plays something really well, but it's also applied to when anyone does anything well. Like, well done, Luke,
