What Is Atonement? – Leviticus E2

BibleProject

CHAPTER

Atonement in Hebrews

In hebrews, the act of atonement that jesus accomplishes is not primarily when he dies. It's when he ascends into the heavenly ple and presents his blameless life and blood before the father. The basic point that an utterly blameless life can obliterate death is the rational underlying the sacrifices of atonement. Both ransom from death and purification from pollution are tied to the underlying logic that the blood is life.
