Joan Koppjekt uses punctuation to show the relationship between subject and effect in her work. She focuses on the hyphen between photo and graph as separating these terms, which overturns any notion of a mastering panoptic gaze. This is like so subtle, it's a level of punctuation. Split subject has a dash. Oh, yeah. It's not a hyphen. It's a dash. So what's Joan, what Joan is doing visually is showing this subjective relation through punctuation. And I think that that will definitely be something worth talking about.
