"The only one i could definitely back myslf up on is we anchored. That is probably the most seamanlike thing, and you cannot argue that," he says. "I always tape my phone number a to the companionway when i'm not on the boat." He also leaves his keys in the ignition if he's ashore for more than a few hours. 'If anything does happen, hopefully somebody'll fix it'
