The Shadow of Being Human

There's a theme of shadows throughout the book, this kind of idea of these rejected bits of identity that we drag around behind us. How do you think what we reject informs who we are? Well I found Carl Jung in this theory prior to my transition it was when I was trying to figure out how to deal with the fact that I was abused growing up and just sort of how to reconcile that with my deep desire to love people but also how do I deal with this hurt.
