The Time Reversal Symmetry of the Laws
In 1964 an experiment by Val Fitch, Jim Cronin, and collaborators at Brookhaven National Laboratory found that the laws governing K-Mays on decays did not obey this reversibility with respect to time. There were very small violations of that principle which made it even stranger. And as our theories matured in the early 1970s, our theories of all these forces, it was possible to begin to understand this feature,. This so-called time reversal symmetry of the laws based on it being kind of an almost accidental consequence of more fundamental principles.
