Tranexamic Acid and the Victorian State Trauma System
The Victorian state trauma system has halved the likelihood of any injured patient dying in 10 years. Tranexamic acid is being used to treat head injuries, but some studies show an increased rate of clotting and venous thromboembolism. A small single-centre trial showed a dose-dependent increase in rates of venousThromboemblism with higher dosages.
