democrats were hoping that they might be able to include a path to citizenship for as many as eight million undocumented people living in the us. The senate parliamentarian, elizabeth mac donald, recently ruled that she would approve the legislative language as it's written. But republicans would likely want to trade that for extra border security measures and i'm just not sure that democrats will want to agree to something like that.
