"I think the Jedi Order failed not only because the Sith were attempting to exterminate them, but also through their hubris, traditions, and hypocrisy," says Kevin Smith. "There was this commitment to dogmatism, and then they seemed to sort of mirror the republic in that they become fairly ineffectual later on."
