I'm one of those people who gets really like side eye about anyone making too strong a claim about the way that media impacts consciousness. There was a lot of virtue signaling in my lifetime in defense of people like Marilyn Manson, where I'm like, this feels very similar to the like people are born gay and lately. And there's no discussion we had about the nature of sexuality. If your experiences are League of Legends, then you learn that human beings are monsters and you should treat them as such. So like, what are the goals though? I think it has evolved over time what we think the purpose of play should be.
