The Importance of Growth Counts in the Malt House
Growth counts on finished malt. They can give us it for the maltster a little bit of a post-mortem look, if you will, on how we did. But as far as distinguishing between well modified and over modified malt, it really is not that helpful. The only thing it'll kid tell you is if you have a bunch of dead kernels.
