What Is the Meaning of the Word Game?

Wittgenstein challenges the notion that a definition in use is anything like that. He points out that any set of conditions you come up with, which are supposed to define the meaning of the word game, will fail to cover some cases we happily recognize as games. And his answer is going to be not a single set of necessary and sufficient conditions. But there's going to be a family resemblance between the activities of one game and another. So that's what he means by language as use.
