The Politics of Building More Houses

People who stand to benefit from more housing don't tend to be as organized, says Ben. So politicians may want to increase the rate of house building, but they have to water those plans down. Conservatives had a manifesto promise of 300,000 new houses a year by the end of the Parliament. They watered that down at the end of last year and criticism is that's simply going to mean not enough houses get built. The battle lines ahead of the next general election seem to be at the moment that labor are going to be the party of build more houses.
