I'd Like to See Ketone Measurements in the Emergency Departments

I'd like to see ketone measurements and the technology for ketone measurements come as far as glucose measurement has come. The other thing that would be really nice to have in all our emergency departments would be able to measure beta hydroxybutyrate levels. So similar to just having a urine ketone strip, this is something that could be done at the bedsideWould give a result very quickly and guide treatment. And it would be wonderful to have that available widespread in Canada.
