i grew up in the pacific northwest, which is a loosely defined geographic region in washington and oregon in the us, and british columbia in canada. And all my form memories of beeches didn't involve palm trees and leisure. They involved rain jackets and a strong sense of wonder because of rocky tidepools and marine life.
