The Story Within a Story
When you have a story within a story, it'll start with the character who finds the story. And they are usually not clear on exactly what it is or how it will relate to their lives. So i think it just creates this, an automatic desire in the reader to solve the question and figure out where these stories come from. I'v found that up until up until nowi typically just called this structure framing story structure,. But with things like canterbury tales and a thousand and one nights a the frame is framing multiple stories.
