Napoleon hill was promoted to work as a clerk for a mine in richland, virginia. His first major test came when the manager of a bank got wasted and accidentally shot a black bellhop to death. Hill took charge, arranging to have the death covered up. As a result, his employer made him manager of the mine at the age of 19.
