The Challenge of Cross-Cultural Communication

When you ask for something, does everybody speak the same language? If I say can someone get me an angia cat and I have a nurse who's never heard it called that before because they're used to calling it a gel co or whatever. It becomes almost like a tower of battle situation where everybody knows what to do but nobody speaks the same language. How do you handle when that comes up? Because even just coming up from the ED to the ICU or the ICU to the floor, there's certain things that my team in the ICU has knowledge of that the ER never deals with or the floor never deals with. There's so many layers to what we're talking about
