Freud's Life and Works - Part One
Freud was initially excited that america had adopted his ideas so rapidly and so widely. And then he ended up hating America for the rest of his life. The impact he had on literature and writers of literature and critics and readers, which was enormous, was and has been enormous. We are a bit ahead of ourselves. So let's hit the reset button. We're going to do a couple of things. To day. Freud is too big, too vast and too important to literature to cover him in just one episode. But we'll take a quick break and then we'll have the first half of our discussion of freud. This will be devoted to his life and his major works
