The Rise of Political Violence in America
A new poll finds that 88% of Americans are somewhat or very concerned about the potential for politically motivated violence this year. The Republican Party has not reckoned with the rise of violence in its ranks, even as the perpetrators of these incidents often wear maga clothing. Joanne Freeman is a professor of history in American studies at Yale University and co-host of the Now and Then podcast. She's also the author of the book The Field of Blood, Violence in Congress and the Road to the Civil War.
