The Search for Galaxies in the Near Infered Camera

The search starts with marsha rikes near cam the first thing that we will do is survey a patch of sky. And estimates are that several pointings of the near and fred camera should be enough to guarantee finding some of these first objects. We will expose on these patches of sky for, oh, order 62 hundred hours, so very long. Hubble did much the same, giving us its famous deep field images showing galaxies that existed 400 to 500 million years after the big bang. Webb will re survey the same patches of sky to try to go even further back in time.
