The Importance of Reasonable Adjustments
If somebody self-diagnosed as having autism, would they then be entitled to ask for reasonable adjustments? Absolutely. Sometimes when you see newspaper articles or click-baity website stories insinuating that somebody is maybe taking the mick with what they are asking for in the workplace. I'm not going to say that it doesn't ever happen, but certainly in my experience as an employment lawyer, I never saw that particularly. For the reason that actually it takes a lot of bravery to admit that you need help and to explain some of the difficulties that you're having.
