On august 25, 19, forty an explosion rocked berlin. Aircraft under the command of u k. Prime minister winston churchill, dropped a bomb on the city in retaliation for a similar attack carried out by german planes over london. It was the first time bombs had ever fallen on berlin. Fearing another more deadly attack, german citizens continued to live each night in perpetual darkness hoping to prevent british aircraft from hitting their targets.
