Women Operators in the War on Terror

Women operators connected trench soldiers to generals and encampments. They translated messages between French and American commanders. There were 223 women who fielded 150,000 calls a day during World War I. Two telephone operators died during the war and were buried in France. But there was no big homecoming, no disability insurance, nothing.
