Hiring Managers - How to Hire a Mid Level or Senior Engineer
I don't love the years of experience as a measure of whether someone's qualified to do a job. So I would look for things where they are not making a lot of noise about looking for someone who's really experienced. If you're on search engines like Indeed or other job engines, I would use the number of years experience to sort of weed out ones that aren't going to be a good use of your time. And if you think it's like 50 50 and they want you to do a cover letter, just say no. It doesn't provide a ton of value anymore. Just creates extra friction.
