The Sarcophagus of Para M. Asu

Para M. asu was the Chate or vaseer for northern Egypt during Horamheb's reign. He did not have a royal title, but may have been promoted to be his heir. His monuments also show that he had unique titles such as hereditary noble of the lord of the two lands and an alternate version, hereditary noble ofthe entire land. It is possible these titles were given in order to indicate favour towards Para M. asU. Even if the king had not officially named him as a successor, even if theKing had not officiallynamed him as a succession candidate, this information gives us some clues about what happened next.
