Is There a Shift in Navigation View Design?
Navigation view was just a single view to support both those two use cases. It would do split style navigation on e pad or larger screens, and then it would do stack navigation on smaller screens. Now you have separate views that still share a lot of functionality but they can adapt across platforms.
