Road blocks took off during the atlantic trade in the 15 hundreds, with capital intensive activities taking place. Then gradually, of course, you have a surge of travellers coming in, strangers from far away places. And then later on, these incentives also proved to be fertile grounds for establishing groups that begin to challenge the authority of the state,. such as rebel groups.
