The Civil War in the Barracks of the Second Commission
Rumors were going around that the second commission, still hold up in the barracks, were issuing some kind of general liberty. So they said, we'll give freedom to any slave who comes and fights for us. But even with these terms, slaves started signing up which is how this whole batch of guys become known as the citizens of le cap. All panic swept every one away. Every ship in the harbor was soon loaded with white refugees,. The citizens who could not make it on to the ships had fled to the surrounding countryside while le camp itself continued to burn.
