The History of China and the Cold War

China is the same underlying issues as Russia right now. Both have aim of overturning US-led international order established at end of Cold War. China projecting a positive alternative to the US world order. After 9-11, the US government was overwhelmingly geared, of course, to counter terrorism in the war on terror. In 2005, the Chinese Ministry of State Security effectively declared war on US intelligence. And from that point on, marshalled all their best resources and officers into defeating US intelligence in China with the aim of supplanting the US from Southeast Asia.
