The Rise and Fall of the Studio System

The head of SAG-AFTRA says the contracts have all remained the same even though the business model has completely changed. The studios could argue that their end has changed as well or at least in terms of their ability to make money because of so many opportunities. But the fact of the matter is that the contracts should change to go along with all of these sea changes in technology and distribution of this type of media. And surprise surprise the old studio system was full of conspiracies but critics say not much has changed today.
