The b i s project dunbar developed two prototypes for a shared platform that could enable international settlements using digital currencies used by multiple central banks. Unlike domestic payments, where banks coul pay each other directly on a single national payment platform, there is no single international platform day for cross border payments and settlements. And so as a consequence, the b i s is trying to develop one itself with other central banks.
