Jan tregeagle was a cornish magistrate and lawyer in the early 16 hundreds. He fit that stereotypical bad guy mould pretty well, being powerful, rich, cranky and dishonest. Toward the end of his life, he paid the local church a good sum of money to ensure that he would be buried on consecrated church property. And all of that went according to plan: Jan died, he got his post mortem exorcism, and then his churchyard grave was covered up. End of story, right? Well, sort of.
