VCs and Product Cycles Are Short, Right?

There are limits to betting everything on the future. Once you become number one, it's really hard to deal with that if you're the competitor. Some VCs have this obsession with like almost looking at the metrics of a startup as if it was a public company. I'm thinking more you should be creating the category.
