Yen Bellick: I think it's important to this larger framework that you set up about sort of black heterodox thinking. It is important that we can engage with their ideas, but that means also recognizing when their ideas fundamentally contradict. i've been always curious about race and in racial issues since my dad grope under jim crow,. And so that's something that i critically get at with my writing. But i'm not trying to write to be considered heterorthodox.
