How to Deal With Anger and Curiosity
Youth can identify three times that they have felt an emotion and what caused it. If you wanted to feel empowered or motivated, what could you do? Do a collage to show the emotion. Older children can write a story about someone experiencing the emotion and how they effectively coped. Distressed tolerance is not about avoiding feelings; it's about tolerating them until that adrenaline and all those other chemicals kind of dissipate a little bit. The emotional part of your brain tends to be more powerful in adolescents.
