O'hara did file a five million dollar libel suit against confidential, but she was not the pioneer she makes herself out to be. In her book, she claims that the entire industry was outraged by confidential by the time her story ran and that all her colleagues were in search of a figurehead to take the publication down. O'hara later wrote, it never happened. The story does read as fiction, concocted to counteract o'hara's previously established persona and to make her relationship with a non white foreigner seem all the more salacious.
