Is Plasticity Adaptive to Predation Environments?
In the absence of predation, guppies completely change. They are more brightly colored and have a slow life history. We know that a lot of these traits are genetically based. But what we don't know is, did plasticity play some role in the adaptation to these low predation environments? So i if plasticity is adaptive its maybe as helping them get established and playing the sort of first step - but maybe some of these traits aren't plastic.
