Introduction
History of the 90s looks back at one of the most exciting and controversial experiments of the 20th century. The idea to build a self-sustaining ecosystem in the New Mexico desert can be traced back to the 1970s. John Allen established Space Biosphere Ventures, a research company with an out-of-this-world plan. If space biosphere ventures could successfully recreate a mini-version of Earth inside an airtight enclosure, it could possibly be used as a prototype for extraterrestrial habitat.
