The Uninsured Deposits of US Banks

US banks held basically $8 trillion in estimated uninsured deposits at the end of 2022. That's about 42% of deposits in the US are uninsured and they are uninsured. The number has gotten bigger because of pandemic QE drove up the amount of deposits.
