What I Take Helen to Be Doing Was Following a Norm
The piece is not ascribing helen a particular view. She actually had and has deep thoughts about all these but what i took her to be doing in that situation was following a norm. So there's a way of navigating those circumstances. Their's kind of rights and rituals, their's prescribed actions. We might do because we think we don't have a better answer than the people around us. And so maybe it's just kind of a moral argument all the way down.
