The Indeterminacy of Paradise
I was uncomfortable with the ending. I thought it tried to bring a bit too much of a kind of narrative point. The film works really well when it's avoiding a narrative, where it's being an abstract narrative. He has shots of paradise that look absolutely beautiful, and then you cut to a giant nightclub with paradise written in neon on the front of it. And so there's a notion of the artificiality of paradise, as it were.
