The Continuity of Governments in the Election

There's no mechanism for removing someone from the ballot who is sick. The states that have these kinds of bailout provisions are all focused on cases where the candidate has died. Some states would allow the state party to identify an alternative candidate up until with some deadline before the election day, who then replaces Trump on the ballot. But even though it's by state, because there's no state that so provides. There's one thing that is for sure: Once the electoral college votes, it's up to the new Congress to certify the results.
