"We can't take it for granted that you just hop on the phone with somebody because you have to throw a fist full of green powder into a fireplace and then stick your head in it," she said. "These things don't become naturalized, right? We never forget that there are these magical technologies intervening in any information that becomes available to us so that the process of gaining access to information is always this really like material and challenging process." She added: "I think this book is the one that shows us that as soon as they leave Hogwarts where at least some of this infrastructure, they've started to be able to take for granted, right?"
